The philosophy behind the REN brand.

Electrons can now travel to and fro across the grid. They can do this many times. Each time that can bring value to the creator and storer of the electron.

Stored electrons have value in transmission but they also have value in the potential or option to be called upon.

When an electron can be shifted in time and in form to another store of energy, it means it can be “sold” many times. It has more than a one-time-value, which up to now the distributed renewable energy producer did not have any control of nor got any value from.

The additional benefit of renewable energy is not just that it is green. It is in the “renewable” bit. After a short period of time the generation of electrons from renewable energy plants does not burn ongoing fuel in its creation. It comes from a renewable source for extremely low cost.

“R” Renewable electrons are green. They are outside the square box which is the current status quo of the grid energy and fuels market. Renewable electrons have a rapidly decreasing cost (after five to seven years) to being virtually free to generate over the next twenty to thirty years, and they can be sold many times. These multiplier values “n deliver more than one return to an investor: hence the “e to the power of n” in our brand.

e to the power of n” is the elemental summary of the energy revolution which is starting now. It is following on from the information revolution. It will change everything and create amazing things that were cost prohibitive.

We stand for Renewable Electrons raised to the power of valuing them a number of times. This earns what is known as “network returns” to scale and not a single transitional value.

The final piece is that renewable electrons can be generated by consumers in distributed energy plants of varying sizes. More than 50% of all renewable will be in the form of smaller distributed energy plants. These electrons are physically produced and consumed very close to one another and are very efficient compared to one generated in a centralised power station hundreds of kilometres away and transported with enormous losses across the grid.

REN captures that value and shifts it to the producer and the consumer and gives them the ability to transact with each other without having to go through an entrenched player, giving away that value to someone else.
